I am honestly in awe of the direction my life has gone the past few months since moving back to America. I don't know if I had said this but my goal was to move out of my parents place within six months of being home and GUESS WHAT?! I FREAKING DID IT! I moved out within like five months of being home. AND I live with a boy. Yup, that's right I live with a boy. To be exact I live with the love of my life and I honestly could not be more happy! I am going to just talk a little bit about what this transition has been like. Let me tell you it is different, but every part of it is worth it.
Boys are messy, they aren't the most organized and they definitely want to do things there way. Haha, but if I am honest I too am a little messy, disorganized, and also want things my own way. In this blog I want to take the time to share with you what I have learned living with my sweet guy and how we navigate through this new season of our relationship. Kyle and I have been living together for about a month and a half so I don't have answers on how to do this smoothly because we are still working out the kinks of it all. We are still learning how to best live together. We are so incredibly in love and happy, which I guess means we do kind of know what we are doing.
When it boils down to everything all you really need is communication. Be open and honest with your partner, your lover, your roommate, whatever they may be, communicate in the best ways that you can don't lie and always open open lines of positive communication. If you don't have communication you are truly wasting your time because things will never work out. You cannot live with someone you don't feel comfortable with. Communication won't fix everything but it is a start so if you are struggling talk to your partner start to communicate with them your needs, a little bit of your wants, and some of your feelings. Things might just start to get better.
Another thing to do is to make sure that you share the responsibilities. That's not just sharing bills it's sharing chores, sharing cooking, grocery shopping, and the like. Make sure that one person isn't doing all that work because then there is going to be burn out people and that's gonna ware on both of you. The two of you also need to make sure that you are taking time to self care for yourselves. Maybe that is spending time alone together, or alone just individually, or maybe it's watching tv, reading, working out, baking, writing, whatever it may be, make sure that you are caring for yourselves as individuals and of course as a couple your relationship has to be put first at times as well. I lump this together because part of sharing the responsibilities with your chores you also have to make sure that you each get time to self care, no body needs to be burn out.
It has been so fun coming home to my guy every night. I love that I get to live with my best friend. I also LOVE our sweet apartment, it's location and all the people that we have surrounding us. I wouldn't trade the season that Kyle and I are in for a second. I am literally watching him play his game as I write this and I have the hugest smile on my face and it just makes me so happy that I get to do life with him.
If you want to hear about anything specific please let me know. I love you guys and I am so thankful that you are reading my journey.
